Garlic Chives

Garlic chives have been widely cultivated for centuries in East Asia for its culinary value. Different from Chives in that the leaves are flat not hollowed out. Mainly grown for culinary purposes the flowers are good for use in the vase and attract butterflies to the garden. Ideal for containers.

Culinary uses such as in herbal vinegars, salads, soups, soft cheeses, compound butters, and grilled meat. COMPANION: Plant your garlic chives among carrots, grapes, roses and tomatoes. They will supposedly deter pests such as Japanese beetles, black spot on roses, scab on apples, and mildew on cucurbits. Please check medicinal properties carefully before use.
