Fennel Florence

Fennel Florence

Fennel leaves look a lot like fresh dill with small feathery dark green leaves. Grow in full sun. Do not plant in the same area as dill or coriander because they will cross-pollinate easily. Fennel also does well in containers, which is an ideal solution as Fennel does not play well with other herbs.

Fennel has a mild anise-like flavour and all parts of the plants can used. Florence fennel plants are smaller than the wild type, and the bulbs are eaten as a vegetable, both raw and cooked. Fennel seed is used as an aromatic spice while leaves are used in Salads and sauces. Fennel can be used for both savoury and sweet dishes. Please check medicinal properties carefully before use.
