Most Cucurbita species are herbaceous vines that grow several meters in length and have tendrils. Long before European contact, Cucurbita had been a major food source for the native peoples of the Americas and today is widely used around the world in a variety of dishes.
A very hard, dark bronze green, bumpy skin. Inside the flesh is tender, golden yellow with a rich flavour.
